Yesterday a team of 6 headed over for the short walk to trial on our home track (Royal Randwick). Two of the six runners trialled very nicely and have now shown John that one is ready to return to the races while the other is on track to make his race day debut.
Heat 5- TYRRHENIAN (Ocean Park x Italian Princess)- The New Zealand bred and purchased gelding was lining up for his third trial (second for his latest preparation) with Rachel King aboard who had rode him earlier in the month when he impressed by finishing 3rd. In yesterday’s trial the big chestnut jumped well and travelled nicely for King before she brought him 3 wide on the turn to sprint home in 2nd place only 1.5 lengths behind the winner. He will now head to the races to make his debut as a new season 3 yr old, there will be exciting times ahead for his group of owners.

Heat 9- TEMOLIE (Star Witness x Abscond)- the chestnut filly was also lining up for trial 2 for this preparation (also having trialled earlier in July), this time with Rachel King also in the saddle the filly jumped cleanly before settling into 4th. As the leader continued to get away with them the flashy chestnut with the white blaze continued to run well finishing in 2nd and also showing John that she is ready to head to the races early into the new season.
