Filly Fires on Debut

The stable was represented by sole runner MY FIRE PHOENIX at Canterbury on Friday night and didn’t disappoint.

The filly by The Factor was fancied in the market and had caused a buzz around the stables after her impressive trial in December at the same track.

The race eventually got under way as the fillies stood in the gates for some time while another runner was attended to, once the gates crashed open given a push by top hoop Tommy Berry, My Fire Phoenix found the front.

Turning for home our filly was joined by Team Snowden’s Howra as they raced toward the post. At the 200m mark My Fire Phoenix kicked away to break her maiden status at her first start winning by just under 2 lengths.

Wearing the famous colours worn by Gust Of Wind when beating Winx in the 2015 ATC Oaks, this filly is owned by Hong Kong connections and will be targeted towards the $2 million dollar Inglis Millennium next month at Warwick Farm ahead of the Classic Sale.
