2 Year Olds to Debut

Hawkesbury Race Club tomorrow will host a 8 race card meeting. The float will be loaded up tomorrow with two of our 2 year olds that will be making their racing debuts on the back of promising trials.

AVALAUNCHE
(Proisir x Shezabella)
Purchased from New Zealand last year, the young gelding is by the Group 3 winning stallion in Proisir (won 3 of his 7 starts and placed on 3 other occasions). He made his first public appearance at a barrier trial in November last year when finishing toward the rear, before being given time to grow and mature. Recently trialled in February and has shown that he is ready to head to the races.

Avalaunche will make his racing debut in Race 3 to be ridden by the in form Mikayla Weir and will be wearing the stable colours (black with yellow shamrocks) as he is owned by John himself.

FOXBOROUGH
(Dissident x Sense Of Pride)
Joining the stable in the middle of 2018, the filly by the 2015 Horse of The Year and popular sire in Dissident out of the Canadian mare in Sense Of Pride has impressed John since she arrived. Her first trial was in October last year where she showed ability finishing 3rd in under 3 lengths from Not A Royal Doubt (trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott).

She was also then given time to grow and mature in the paddock, returning earlier this year and having two more trials. In both additional trials she has continued to show promise in particular in her most recent outing finishing in 5th only 1.6 lengths behind the $1.8 million dollar filly in Evening Slippers (also trained by Gai & Adrian- recently breaking her maiden at Warwick Farm). With this performance Foxborough has shown that she is also ready to make her racing debut.

She will wear the infamous colours of the Grimish family (Geoff bred the filly and remains in the ownership)- Black with grey diagonal stripes, the colours also worn by horses such as Counter Attack, Invictus Prince and Red Tracer (to name a few). The filly will be ridden by Glyn Schofield.

Good luck to all connections associated with the above horses as they continue their journey as race horses.
