Rain No Deterrent on Tricolours Open Day

We have been fortunate enough to enjoy a dry winter until the weekend just gone. The hard working team at Tricolours Racing & Syndications had been busy preparing to host an open day at the stables to show case their recent Inglis purchase.

As the day arrived, so did the rain! With constant downpours James Moss and his team stood around wondering if the weather would cause some scratchings due to the heavy going, a question that was answered very shortly when people began to arrive.

With everyone taking cover from the easing rain the parade kicked off with the main reason for the open day being to parade the recent Inglis Classic Purchase- the All Too Hard x Persian Star filly. The filly recently entered the stable after being broken in by Matt Vella at Hawkesbury, who gave the filly a glowing report.

The filly has completed her educational preparation which saw her become familiar with the Randwick track, the stable routine, jumping out of the gates and also going for a nice dip in the pool. She will now head out to spell for a few weeks before coming back in to commence a full campaign. There are still ownership opportunities available in the filly and anyone interested in joining in the thrill of racehorse ownership with the Tricolours team can contact James Moss on 0448 881 840 (get in quick as she impressed a lot of people on the day).

Also during the wet conditions, the other star attraction was Miss Moana who had returned from her lush green paddock to be paraded before adoring fans and owners. Miss Moana recently contested the Group 3 TAB Fillies Classic at Morphettville and looked the winner close to home before being just run down by the outsider of the field. Miss Moana will now also return to her paddock to continue her spell before she also resumes in the coming months for another exciting campaign for the large ownership group.

The parading of horses also included the 3 year old gelding Gweilo Tantrum. The young horse has been out for some time with an injury that has now been remedied by the farrier and now the team and the ownership group can look forward to the racing career commencing. As the legendary Bart Cummings said “Patience is the cheapest thing in racing, yet seldomly used” – hopefully for the connections their patience will be rewarded when he hits the track.
