My Sweet Fish Chasing a Hat Trick in Dulcify

The count down to the Everest continues on Saturday with racing action from Rosehill Gardens hosting a 9 race card meeting. The team will saddle up two runners in the Listed Dulcify Stakes over the 1500m as Race 5.

Looking for a hat trick of wins and her chance to pick up some black type for her pedigree is the inform MY SWEET FISH (Shamus Award x Is It A Mosquito). The filly made her race deubt in the Inglis Millennium back in February this year where she finished down the field but then stepped out in a trial in May winning impressively. With a few unlucky runs on the board, John sent the filly to Wyong in August and paired her up with jockey Tim Clark over the 1350m, a formula that paid off as the filly was able to get her toes into the ground and shake the maiden status.

Having come through the run she was then sent down to Nowra toward the end of August and paired this time with Sam Clipperton. She was stepped up to 1400m with Sam Clipperton taking the ride and after jumping settled the filly toward the rear of the field before giving her clear running around the turn to allow My Sweet Fish to show an explosive turn of foot to win by a length and a half.

She has continued to impress John with her work and feels that she is now in good form to have a go at obtaining some valuable black type for her pedigree. She will jump from barrier 3 with Clipperton aboard again.

Also making the Listed field is stable mate SHINING EAGLE (Verazzano x Dashing Eagle). The lightly raced filly has had the 3 career starts and has scored a minor placing with a few her most recent run just missing the placings but showing that she has potential. She will step up from the 1300m to the 1400m, however a distance that is still short of her best, John is happy enough with the horse to also give her a chance at picking up some black type for her page as well. Jumping from 4 she will be ridden by historic Melbourne Cup winning jockey Glen Boss.

Good luck to all connections associated with both the fillies on Saturday.
