Saturday racing returns to Rosehill as we kick off the Sydney Autumn Carnival with the inaugural Pink Race Day to be held in front of hopefully a large crowd.
The team will saddle up a filly and two mares to represent on the occasion of raising money for breast cancer research.
Race 5 – Chandon Phar Lap Stakes over 1500m for the 3 year olds will see our Oaks hopeful ASPECT RATIO step out over a favourable distance as she continues her path toward the Australian Oaks on Day 2 of the Championships (11th April). After the run on Saturday she will then head to the Vinery Stud Stakes over the staying trip of 2000m ahead of then going into the Oaks. Aspect Ratio to be ridden by Andrew Adkins who was able to steer her to break her maiden back in October last year at Warwick Farm.
Race 8 – Tab Sky High Stakes over 2000m will see the return of LUVALUVA, who is fresh and first up from her time in New Zealand where she ran a gallant 6th in the Group 1 Herbie Dyke stakes at Te Rapa. She resumes over her favourite distance and is well within the weights (53.5kg). With Koby Jennings unable to make the weight, apprentice Jean Van Overmeire will be legged aboard hoping to get the Mastercraftsman mare into the winners circle.
Race 9 – Cerrone Handicap over 1350m has the talented former New Zealand mare HOUSE OF CARTIER stepping out over a distance that is short of her best as John prepares to then step her up to a more suitable trip. Her last start effort was a good run and will have topped her off nicely for this weekend’s assignment. Randwick Guineas winning jockey Josh Parr will take the ride from barrier 8.
Good luck to all connections associated with the runners.
