$2 Million Prize Money Awaits Away Game’s Half Sister

Saturday the racing action will heat up the track with the Inglis Millennium day at Royal Randwick, the feature race for the babies 2yr olds worth a prize pool of $2 million, a field of 16 youngsters will compete over the 1100m.

High profile owners Seymour Bloodstock will have two fillies lining up looking for the chance to add some valuable black type to their pedigrees with the stable being represented by THE SEVEN SEAS. In order to be eligible the youngsters had to be purchased from any of the Inglis yearling sales. The Seven Seas was purchased at the 2021 Easter Yearling sale for $280,000 by Mark Pilkington.

The filly by global champion Merchant Navy is a half sister to the very talented Away Game (Snitzel) and on debut did not disgrace herself when finishing 6th behind El Padrino back in December last year before going for a well earned break prior to resuming at the trials in early January.

This morning The Seven Seas galloped well ahead of the upcoming target and is well within herself, she will have to overcome a tricky draw (barrier 15) but will carry the light weight of 54.5kgs with Robbie Dolan in the silks.

Also on the day the other runner for the stable will be PECUNIARY INTEREST who will step out in the Midway Benchmark 72 over the 1600m. A winner of two consecutive Midway races overcoming issues in both, he has been freshened up for this race and will come back in distance. Pecuniary Interest will be ridden by the in form apprentice Ellen Hennessy.
