Latest News From The John Sargent Racing Stable

As the new season gets underway, the team at John Sargent Racing have remained fit and well over the winter months.

Yesterday was a big day for the stable with 16 trials at Randwick, seeing a couple of smart efforts from some up and coming horses going into the spring. Over the coming weeks we will be seeing plenty of runners. Lets hope the tracks stay dry as we have seen plenty of heavy tracks over the past few months.

Here are some to look out for….

Mayrose – 4 yo filly , by Pride Of Dubai who gave the owners some great days out last season, with 2 wins and 1 second, and is one to watch. She has clearly come back in good order, winning her trial yesterday under Rachel King. She will go straight to the races now. And is one to keep on the right side of wild fresh.

Perfect Thought – son of So You Think stamped himself out as a colt to watch as spring racing begins, coming second in yesterday’s trial beaten by a head. He will kick off his campaign on Wednesday the 10th at Kensington over 1300metres with Tommy Berry taking the ride.

Jolted and Miss Farbege – two exciting 3 yo fillies. Miss Frabege contested some very strong 2 yo races last season, finding a couple of soft tracks to her disliking. She has been trialling well and Sarge will find a nice 3yo Maiden to start of her prep. Jolted is a very well bred filly by Deep Impact out of Oaks Winner Abbey Marie. That will be stepping out this weekend for her debut at Newcastle. Obviously she is bred to get over further so she will come into her own later on in the season. Hopefully she will emulate her mother winning an Oaks.

Finally River Tamar – a 3 yo filly by Tavistock out of Bankside Belle that has put 2 very nice trials together, looks like giving her connections a lot of fun this season.

Good Luck to all owners and horses in the upcoming season.
