With the Brisbane Winter Carnival well and truely underway it is time for two of our stable stars Casual Connection and China Sea to make the trip for their shot at Glory in two of the carnivals most time-honoured races. The stable takes huge pride in having these two horses representing John Sargent Racing this weekend in such prestigious races. It’s a huge achievement when considering the stable has only thirty horses in work and to have two make their way up to Brisbane this weekend it’s a show of the hard work and dedication John and his team have.
Casual Connection will take place in the Brisbane Cup over 3200m this Saturday. The light weight chance with Damien Thornton aboard should relish the distance.
China Sea our exciting 2yo heads to Eagle Farm on Saturday for the Group 1 J.J. Atkins over 1600m with Rory Hutchings to stay aboard after winning on him on debut.
Both horses have travelled up beautifully and settling into their new surroundings. We want to wish every one of our owners involved in these horses the best of luck for this Saturday and hope they can both race well.
