Proisir/O’Fille Colt

Arguably one of the value purchases of the 2026 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale at NZ$230,000, this colt is by Champion New Zealand Sire Proisir, out of the multiple stakes-winning and Group-producing O’Reilly mare O’Fille. Purchased from the premier nursery of Rich Hill Stud, where his sire stands, he is a half-brother to G3 Caulfield Classic winner Albarado, who was sharp enough to score on debut as a two-year-old.

Proisir continues to rank highly among the elite stallions in Australasia, currently sitting second on the New Zealand Sires Premiership, and is the only stallion in recent years to dethrone Savabeel for Champion Sire honours. He also boasts an outstanding strike rate of 62% winners to runners and is the sire of 24 individual stakes winners.

On the dam side, O’Fille was a high-class racemare, winning six races up to 2100 metres and recorded standout victories in the G3 Trentham Stakes, G3 Cuddle Stakes and Listed Manawatu Stakes. She also performed with distinction at the highest level, finishing runner-up in the G1 Zabeel Classic, alongside multiple other stakes placings.

The colt’s damsire O’Reilly ranks among the most influential stallions in Australasian breeding history. A perennial Champion Broodmare Sire and Champion Sire in his own right, his daughters have produced 154 individual stakes winners, including 31 at Group 1 level, headlined by Pride Of Jenni.

He will be trained by trusted DGR trainer John Sargent from his base at Royal Randwick.
