Promising Stayer Wins Again

The team had just the one runner yesterday at the races hosted by Wyong on the provincial circuit in NSW. The promising 4 year old ALL THINGS lined up in the famous Think Big Stud colours that have been worn by many greats of the turf.

Stepping up in distance to the 2100m, All Things lined up in Race 3 of the day and jumped from barrier 9. Showing good gate speed he was able to cross over and sit 4 wide as the field passed the post for the first time with a lap of track ahead of them. After sorting out their running positions, the gelding by So You Think was able to settle in 4th and one off the rail.

Jockey Andrew Gibbons begun his run with 600m left to go, turning into the straight, All Things has drawn level with the leader and turned it into a real staying test. 50m out and another challenge comes late and All Things is able to dig deep and get back in front as they reach the post.

All Things will now step up in distance and if the opportunity presents to have a crack at mid-week city racing then he will run in the city, if not he will have another provincial run before a city target is found for him.

The lightly raced gelding records his second win in just 7 starts with 3 minor placings also to his tally. Legendary trainer Bart Cummings once said that “Patience in racing is the cheapest thing but is seldomly used”, the connections of All Things had to wait around a year for the gelding to get to the races after he injured himself in a trial back in January of last year and the horse is now returning rewards.

Congratulations to all associated with All Things.
