The Sydney Autumn carnival nears and with racing action back at Royal Randwick this week for Chipping Norton Stakes Day, the racing fans are no doubt in for a treat with some quality racing on the track over 10 races including two Group 1s.
This morning our runners for Saturday were put through their paces as they had their final piece of fast work before their respective assignments on Saturday.
FOUR MOVES AHEAD
Looking to record a Group 1 next to her name, the Snitzel filly is getting ready for the Surround Stakes on Saturday and will be hoping to bounce back to form from her run in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes when finishing down the field. This morning the filly worked over the 1000m on the Kensington track on her own and ran the last 600m in 0:35.8. Nash Rawiller will be on board again on Saturday.
MISS FABERGE
Miss Faberge is still in the acceptances for the 2022 Golden Slipper over the carnival along with some other big nominations for the filly by Russian Revolution. Saturday she will line up in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes with Nash Rawiller. This morning her final piece of fast work was over the 800m on the Kensington track, running the last 600m in 0:36.2. She has been one to watch since an eye catching and black book worthy second placing behind eventual Inglis Millennium winner Xtravagant Star in a trial earlier this month.
MAYROSE
Promising Pride Of Dubai filly is putting together a nice record and stamping herself as one to watch every time she steps out. From just the 5 starts the filly has recorded 2 wins and 2 seconds, with plenty more to come. Last start she stepped out at Canterbury and caused an upset when first up after a break when coming with a fast finish over 1100m to claim her second win at healthy odds with Jason Collett in the saddle. Collett will be aboard again on Saturday when the filly will represent the stable in the Midway Benchmark 72 over the 1100m. This morning her final hit out was over the half mile and running home the last 600m in 0:36.
OUTLANDOS
Impressive last start winner over 2400m, will be looking to go back to back however stepping back in distance to the 2000m on Saturday. The gelding by Dissident has put together a nice record since joining the stable last year. This morning his work was over the 1600m and he performed as good as he did when winning last start and performing second in the Magic Millions staying race. Hugh Bowman will be back in the saddle on Saturday.
The day is shaping up to be a big one for the stable and hopefully all horses perform well. Good Luck to connections associated with each of the runners, final fields released tomorrow.
