High Tranquility Heads to Kembla

All eyes on Saturday will no doubt be on Royal Randwick as the biggest day on the Sydney Racing Carnival has arrived- The Everest. A race that in its second year has gained a lot of publicity with the controversial but innovative method of conducting the barrier draw. What is set to be an action packed day full of great racing and off track entertainment, the big race day will be supported by an 8 race card meeting south at the picturesque Kembla Grange located near Wollongong on the South Coast of New South Wales.

On the biggest day of racing in Sydney, John will also saddle up one at Kembla. In race 7 the Macey Insurance Brokers Benchmark 64 Handicap, the black colours with the yellow shamrocks will be carried by our 5yr old mare HIGH TRANQUILITY (High Chaparral x Tranquility Cove). Since her return to the stable in August, the mare has put together a promising campaign finishing with one second, two thirds and just missing the placings on two other occasions out of her last 6 runs. During her latest outing on the 22nd September at Kembla running a very close second over the 1400m only beaten by the bearest of margins when partnered with Winona Costin.

Returning to the same track and going over the same distance, High Tranquility has drawn the prime position of barrier 1 and should be hard to beat. This time out she will be partnered with Koby Jennings who will be looking to lift the High Chapparal mare one better over the line for her connections. High Tranquility has recorded 2 wins from 12 starts and both victories have come on the Kembla track so she will be looking for the hatrick of wins.

Before we focus our attention to High Tranquility’s race at Kembla, flying the flag at home base will be LUVALUVA in the Group 3 Craven Plate with Jay Ford aboard. With the rain that has fallen in the past week, the ground should suit the Mastercraftsman mare who felt the ground in the Hill Stakes with Michael Walker in the saddle.

We wish the connections in both horses all the best and will be hoping for a Sargent Double with wins on both tracks.
