Miss Moana at Kensington

Evening racing returns to Randwick this Friday night when the Kensington track will host 7 races, with the first to jump at 3.10pm.

As it is our home track, John will saddle up just the one runner for the meeting. Race 4 the Heineken 3 Handicap over the 2400m will see stable stayer MISS MOANA step out in the Tricolours Racing colours to be worn by Chris Williams.

Since returning to the stables from a spell, it appears that the horse has returned much more mature and has continued to impress John. Miss Moana made her return to the races in September when resuming at Wyong in September over the mile (a distance short of her best) and surprised many when she won in a strong manner at double figure odds. In her next start she was stepped up to the 2000m at Randwick on Everest Day where she finished down the field.

Her next start was on Melbourne Cup day over the same distance as the famous race with Chris Williams in the saddle, showing that she could stay a solid 2 miles when winning by 2 lengths. This win exciting connections and fans to think in the future to the first Tuesday in November next year. But before that John stepped the mare by Uncle Mo back in distance to the 2400m, again showing a good performance over such trips to run second behind the well fancied Godolphin runner – Loveseat.

Friday will see Miss Moana take on 8 rivals including Eugenio and Poulton Le Sands that she has faced in previous starts. Jumping from barrier 4 she will have Chris in saddle again looking to go one better than last start and to add to their record together.

Good Luck to the large group of owners and the team at Tricolours Racing with Miss Moana on Friday.
